Homebuyer Credit Closing Date Extended!
 
Congress passed an extension of the closing deadline for the Homebuyer Tax Credit, the Homebuyer Assistance and Improvement Act (H.R. 5623). The extension applies only to transactions that have ratified contracts in place as of April 30, 2010, that have not yet closed. The legislation is designed to create a seamless extension; the new closing deadline for eligible transactions is now September 30, 2010.  
 
National Association of Realtors Releases Local Market Report For the Metro New York Area

Every housing market is unique. This Local Market Report (LMR) — reflects data available through the 1st Quarter  of 2010.  It provides insight into the fundamentals and direction of our local real estate market. The report evaluates a number of factors affecting home prices, including:
  • The health of the local job market
  • Foreclosure rates
  • Housing inventory
  • Debt-to-income and mortgage-servicing-costs-to-income ratios
The report detail median pricing of homes, affordability,  mortgage market trends,and details of local foreclosures.
