Thomas Paine Cottage, New Rochelle Revolutionary War History Visit the homes of Thomas Paine,   John Jay -- our first chief justice, Washington's headquarters for the Battle of White Plains,  a Quaker meeting house, and St. Paul's colonial era church.
Art, Architecture, Music The extensive gardens of Kykuit offer panoramic views of the Hudson River and sculpture by modern masters including Brancusi, Calder, Moore, Nevelson and Picasso. The Heritage Exhibit of the Maryknoll Sister includes art work and artifacts from different cultural traditions: Pre-Columbian pottery, clay figures from Central America, tribal ritual objects from Africa, a Netsuke Collection from Japan, alabaster Buddhas from Burma, brass work from Korea and shoes for bound feet from China. Led by conductor Paul Lustig Dunkel, the Westchester Philharmonic as well as the Westchester Symphony Orchestra with Maestro Anthony Abel and the Philharmonia Virtuosi, all give performances at the Performing Arts Center at the State University of New York at Purchase.
